How to watch H.264 on VLC The H.264 with new firmware has RTSP port which used on VLC. If your H.264 camera has no RTSP, please upgrade your camera to have it for watching on VLC.

★ How to upgrade H.264 camera

Please check your camera’s original firmware firstly to confirm if the new firmware is suitable for your camera.

1, currently, it cannot to upgrade new firmware in the IP Camera Tool, please login the camera to upgrade.

2, upgrade as below.

Before upgrading, you can also save setting of camera in Backup Setting Data.

Then after upgrading, you can restore setting of camera you set before in Restore.

Note:

Please upgrade the system firmware only, the upgrading need be done under power on and stable wired connection. Please don’t upgrade in wireless. Please don’t shut down the camera when upgrading

★ How to watch H.264 cameras on VLC

1, Check or Set RTSP port

RTSP port number: The default RTSP port number is 554. and you can set any new number between 1024 and 49151 as well. Clicks apply to save setting.

2, Watch living video on VLC by URL

Enter rtsp:// IP:RTSP port number/11 or rtsp:// IP:RTSP port number/12 into the VLC, you can see the real-time preview. If the RTSP port number is 554, you can directly enter the following url: rtsp:// IP/11 or rtsp://IP/12 . The number “11” shows that you will use first stream. The number”12″ shows that you will use second stream.

For example:

Enter rtsp://192.168.11.40/11 in the VLC.rtsp://192.168.11.40:8123/11

Can not login camera remotely on VLC.
